Farm Festival 2012
In 2006, a small group of friends native to Somerset made the decision to host an intimate, cost-effective festival for their friends as an alternative to the events dominating the English Summer. Farmfestival’s subsequent success has seen attendances grow organically through word of mouth, from an initial 400 to its capped 4000 capacity, which meant they needed a bigger field for hire.
The festival remains adamantly sponsor-free, the lo-fi DIY aesthetic combining with the genre busting music policy to create the unique atmosphere. Previously quoted as one of the UK’s best kept festival secrets (Dj Vadim / Venue Mag), the cat is slowly being let out of the bag.
Metronomy, The Antlers and more for Off Festival
Get ready to dance to the beats of Metronomy and Shangaan Electro, and share a moment of reflection with The Antlers, Bardo Pond, Mikołaj Trzaska, performing his soundtrack to the film Rose and prepare to be offended and deafened by Apteka.
And if that’s still not enough, the American electropop duo High Places, the British producer/visionary Andy Stott, and Beneficjenci Splendoru (who are not robots, despite rumors) invite you to the Radio 3 Stage.
Kendal Calling Fancy Dress Theme announced
Getting dressed up for a festival is all about becoming another version of you, an exaggerated, bold and colourful character. So this year we are transforming the Deer Park land for events into another world with our theme Fairy Tales & Comic Books.
With the backdrop of the stunning Lake District, Kendal Calling expects to see everyone from the pied piper to Wolverine, Little Red Riding Hood to Catwoman, the Gingerbread to Tin Tin all partying together and this years theme will make the event even more of a surreal wonderland of fun and frolics than ever before.
